Like previously introduced, Singapore last week was bombarded with two events: one for the mass which caused a stir to have an overnight Q starting at 12:45PM by the OSN boys, and the rather more quiet one for the limited edition (very, very limited) pieces of TOPSHOP x Mary Katrantzou. Because a lot of damage was done during Marni at H&M, as it was for the mass and it was earlier (8 March), Mary came after (10 March) and I bet most have no more budget for the luxe cut of Topshop's unbelievable price.

Aaaaaanyway, went down to H&M thereafter the TOPSHOP morning proper frenzy and surprised to find a lot of Marni stuff left. But I understand why these are still persistent to hang in these cute racks! (focal point: the racks and the label, not the clothes. Heh heh)

I was pondering where this adorkable glasses came from on myTumblr showing my new favorite rookie (yet) B.A.P., and one of my pals popped up it was from Ksubi but I couldn't find it. I left it at rest a couple days until this picture of Mir and this glasses even in bigger resolution could stop me from focusing on my thesis writing and had to research on it now.
Thank goodness for search engines and apt words to fill in ("pixelated glasses" does it, that's it) and this came out.
Finally, I've found the designer, where and what and how and well, it's amazing!
Say hi to Dzmitry Samal, and his 5-dpi range, (love the name) the French designer (wearing his uber-cool product design. He should post this on Behance). Hats off to him to make the idea happen FIRST!

Back to topic, they're pals with MLLE YULIA too, so they're the heart of the Tokyo clubbing scene. And the fashion part for sure which I was aiming for.
It's a mask ball, and from its description, a mask is a must. I was stucked for a bit but luckily I had a mask somewhere safe kept since a couple years back.
So of course, I had to prepare. As geeky as I'd get for all things Nippon, here's what I did to plan beforehand:

When I was re-reading for a gazillionth time after the night of N'TH (click on the picture to support em! I love love love this free, yes freeeeeee magazine in SG) and saw Peli on their Droptokyo street style, I was even more overwhelmed. That's why she was even more familiarly refreshed on my head! *And I like that girl on her left with her colorful skirt*
Yeah, to cut things short, I prepared just as I drew on the above for the tee. I've been keeping this tee for some time - it's and old tee of my dad's used for soaking up the last bits of dye I did during the summer (POST WILL COME NOT ANYTIME SOON HA) and after contemplating plus watching the latest SHINee Juliette video which put me to fashiongasmic of its styling and the toy masks, I tried to cut like le wife's pink tee turn something liddat on left here.

With a few changes from knee-high black socks to leopard prints and being the earthy-theme'd helped by Miss President Director of BS Corporation Damian Shirley I was ready to rumble and to be looked at weirdly. Yeah, you be the judge. ;)
The theme for me was all out and the night where I felt like I was supposed to be in 原宿(Harajuku). ふわふわふわ〜

Got little goodies perfect for my pin collection and next DIY-ing, and the best memory however blurred. Mission accomplished at 3AM, which is what I wanted to do and the ONLY thing I wanted to do is to snap, and pass. Won't dish anymore to keep the wish far safe. 11:11!
She was great - she suddenly high fived me for "great mask!" whilst re-Q-ing back to the party. It was a good choice to re-enter. It paid off.

"Oh goodness no, the designer lets us have fun with our own creativity to let the skirt drape in differ ways. It has buttons inside attached. Osm right?!"

Yay where I finally met Jordan of the ultra popular worldwide Balletcats since we've worked anything but face to face for the first batch at The Goods Dept. Did you miss our catfight?

Then I also met another Jordan and Jess the polar opposite siblings all the way! LOL well they both were starving and finally after a dreadful long while and a contemplation to eat fish and co. we settled for Ootoya. I only came along to get my dessert (plus grabbing other foods they ordered as usual. We know each other too well in terms of food. When I say I'm not hungry or I DID get my dinner, there's always space to eat more) which was super super super on the top - nirvana seven!The best vanilla ice cream ever tasted. The texture was correct and the taste is superbly rich.
But anyhow, I’ve been planning to wear this skirt (I’ve been asked and pointed out several times, whether I’ve stitched the side hems myself to create the assymetrical drape look or not. Well you can judge yourself, what did I do with it? Answers coming below, who guessed right let me know) since a few days back planned in Singapore, in order to fit my little suitcase and immediately change when I touchdown Jakarta on the same day Brightspot Market opens its first night.
No I didn’t come all the way to Jakarta for – well more or less I did book a ticket to Jakarta by noon to catch the event in the city before returning to Bandung, my home sweet home. So yes, I did 20% came all the way for Brightspot. Confession of a wardrobe upgrade need. The solution: shop loads at the market to support local designers.
Outcome: Only managed to buy one.

I’ve got to plan my wardrobe. I’m going for the colorful hippie a la low-keyed Cavalli and Kenzo, all whites and neutrals combine a la Celine, and I’ve got no choice to try find more new things since this is failure. I was prepared okay, I’ve got my paycheck with me but I guess I’m saving it for more bespoke shoes.
Speaking of shoes, I’ve never released in public that I’m creating a bespoke shoe label for my final year diploma project. If there’s someone contacting me for it to actually produce them for the market, well, I would be stoked.

My shoes are one tricky thing and I’m crossing fingers I won’t trip when sporting them on the upcoming 26th May, 6:30PM. You all should come for the opening of the LASALLE SHOW ’11 (if you are in Singapore of course)! You might see me fall – it’s history! ;p
Back to Brightspot, I was looking forward to meet Nico, Emily, Primo, and of course the rest of the Whiteboard team and the lovely Dinda! Then I met Tontey and the rest of the interns which they should be enjoying themselves working under them minus the distance from their house to the company’s office address that I’ll just close my eyes.
And during today, I managed to accomplish two things:
To tick off life goals #74: Shoot a ‘stranger’ with a knifey question. Or something personal or something you know, that shoots at the heart. Like seriously since I want to know how they react. It can either be negative or neutral (which Caucasians or Western people would have this reaction, or even interested at it because of the question and even develops it out as a dialogue) in terms of human psychology.
To even more believe that I don’t have a pretty future with blond or slit-eyed kids but in return to have my thesis question ready for my BA year this upcoming new college term.

That was a touché touchy touchy subject I’m sure and I’d become a pelacur – pelan pelan curhat moment but you took it well! Sorry dude, hahaha it was all planned. Because the thesis that “all men who are into fashion should be all gay” as a topic is forming well – and is so far with first-hand account been so clear in front of me. I don’t know what to believe anymore so that’s why these experiences and accounts I have will be much useful, if my lecturer allows. If not, then screw it, I’ll need to find another interesting thesis question for 6K words.
Your reaction and answer had confirmed my hypothesis. Thus, the proposal for this topic has a bigger chance. With another fashion event upcoming, I’ll probably just drop dead and this 6K word essay would be then a 110% diary of a pelacur. My diary of rants against! *evil laugh*
Anyhow it was definitely fun although real short but I’m truly apologetic if I’ve hurt you in any way. Next time with Primo which I didn’t manage to meet to continue on the fashion debate! Deffo that you’d know more fashion things more than I do – fashion is not my religion after all, it’s food. Oh wait, K-Pop. ;D
I am now writing at 2AM in the morning amidst my diploma project redo and I am sleepy – my bed here is so good I could sleep in all day, different to the one back in stuffy Singapore. Here, kitty kitty kitty! Sanrio these days is killing me. On the day of my birthday, the BAPE x SANRIO was launched, I was there and it's to report on it too. But then today after 2 days hiatus of not opening my comp then something caught my eye, Sanrio and Doc Marts. I'm like,WHUT!DERRFAKQ?
Not another time to line up and finally not getting anything!? This mouthless white cat is getting out of hand with its power. I went to find out why all of these fashion-loved brands are creating Hello Kitty products.
With a not-so-sharp nose like a cat's and higher jaguar instinct, it turns out that Sanrio's 50th Anniversary is the reason behind all of these collaborations.
I'm no Docs fan, but that SANRIO print is just, ARRRRRRRRHHHHHHH or that white one. Reminds me of Sailor moon because of the color! This doesn't apply to the local shores, but to the whole world that has gone mad for cats!

However this time round, they've got their gold anniversary right! It looks more sophisticated, designed as a flat which is much more feminine then their original unisex shape that everyone agrees that it's hideous. My friend rang me yesterday, saying that Hello Kitty has invaded Crocs!
"Yeah, I know that pink with apples? And Jibbitz for their anniversary?"
"I know the Jibbitz but no no no there's a new one!"
"Really, are you sure it's not Jibbitz?"

After checking clicks, yes there was these new bejeweled flats. It was out in May, but I'm sensing it just came in to stock in Singapore! My friend was at Plaza Singapura Crocs store... so feline furries, you know where to get these from at their official counters.
Well said for Kitty fans in the queues for main HK launches in here. Singaporeans can't stop the feline fetish - and it's infecting to the whole island!
